What are you looking for in your baseball vacation packages?

Want Great Seats? Stadium Tours? Meet a Player? Great Hotels? Time to Explore?
I started this business a few years ago because I didn't like how other tour companies were offering their baseball trips. Many of them offer 10 - 14 day trips that require you to ride on a bus for hundreds, if not thousands, of miles. They stay in hotels that are outside of the cities so that you don't really get to explore them while you're there. And, unfortunately, the seat locations aren't great.

Here are a couple of blog entries from their customers:
  1. "We then headed up to our seats (in Yankee Stadium) which were just a few feet from the moon. Like at Shea we were 4 rows from the top but this time we were in right field. We could not see most of the right field fence so we hoped all activity would be in left field...It sounds like our seats are pretty horrible tomorrow night too so hopefully we can scope some better seats."
  2. "2800 miles of riding in a bus with almost no sleep and too many hot dogs but what an adventure it was." I bet. Not my kind of adventure...
  3. "Tickets were in the upper deck and I made a vow in 1991 never to sit up there again. We left the group to suffer from fear of falling out of their seats..."
If the sound of these comments leaves you concerned about booking other group travel tours, check out our tours and rest assured that you'll never have an experience like they've described.

Baseball Vacation Packages - Why Would You Purchase One?

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Tue, Nov 15, 2011 @ 10:27 AM

I hate group travel. This admission will seem odd coming from a guy who owns a baseball travel / tour operator business - but it's true. I don't like being told that I only have one hour to see this or an hour to do that. I like flexibility in my schedule to do what I want. In the dugout at Yankee Stadium

Some baseball vacation packages will give you that flexibility and give you an opportunity to do things that you might not be able to do on your own. For instance, traveling by motor coach can get you to places more easily than trying to drive there on your own. (Have you been to Cooperstown? It's really close to...nothing!)

Groups can also arrange for private baseball stadium tours, on-field time at the stadiums, or meet & greets with baseball players. The cost of these events on your own might be difficult to do.

Most group tours are escorted tours. This gives you someone with local knowledge to guide you throughout your trip. Where should we eat dinner? How long will it take us to get to a certain site? Etc. All things that should make your trip more enjoyable.

And finally, package tours should provide you with the convenience of getting a unique trip with one phone call. You won't have to track down hotel reservations in a city you don't know, tickets in a stadium you don't know, transportation, and on and on.

There can be many advantages for taking the trips that will even make them enjoyable for a guy like me, who hates group tours - except ours...

Baseball Stadiums - Getting to All 30

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Wed, Nov 09, 2011 @ 06:06 PM

So how many of you have the goal of getting to all the Major League Baseball parks in your lifetime? It's on your bucket list, in other words... We understand. We do too!! I started providing baseball tours 6 years ago because I couldn't find anyone providing them the way that I wanted to go. My thinking was that if I was going to be in a city or at a stadium one time, I would like to have the best experience I possibly could.

Fast forward now 6 years and we've hosted tours to every major league ballpark. I'm still working on my bucket list. I have six ballparks left to go. Well, that actually becomes 7 in April when the Marlins open their new baseball stadium in Miami. But, what a terrible excuse to have to go to Miami again!

The folks over at Ballpark Chasers have a cool app on their site. It lets you map which stadiums you've been to. They also have some other cool features about different stadiums, traveling, etc. It's a fun place to poke around. You're bound to learn something.

And as you are thinking about your 2012 baseball travel plans, don't hesitate to contact us, let us know where you would like to go, and if you have any questions about our tours or building custom tours of your own.

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Sat, Oct 29, 2011 @ 10:34 AM

What an amazing finish to the 2011 MLB IMG 3009 resized 600season! One of the most improbable scenarios played out in front of our eyes. The Cardinals were 10.5 games back in September and came all the way back to capture the World Series title for the 11th time in franchise history. Click here to see the box score and video wrap up on MLB.com.

One thing that we have found on our baseball tours, St. Louis is a baseball town - the team, stadium and fans are all top notch. It's always a favorite stop for our travelers on their baseball vacation packages.

As we put together our 2012 baseball tour packages, we'll be looking to head to St. Louis on a Midwestern tour. If you want to visit Busch Stadium or see the Cardinals on the road, sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know the details of our tours!
