East Coast Tour, May 2014: Boston, New York, DC, Baltimore & Philly

Fenway Park,Yawkey Way,Red Sox,Boston,baseball trips If you're a baseball fan and you have a bucket list, then this East Coast Tour is for you. You'll start this tour in Boston, home of Historic Fenway Park. The game should be a night game so arrive early and see some sites before we head over to the park and enjoy all the fun around Yawkey Way.

You'll leave mid-day on Saturday to make the trip to New York where you will have the evening on your own and plenty of time to explore Manhattan from your Midtown hotel. Sunday we'll head to Yankee Stadium, for, what we expect to be, an afternoon game when the Yankees are hosting the Pirates. We'll head back to Manhattan after the game and you'll have the evening on your own in the Yankee Stadium,group tours,baseball stadium tours,baseball trips,baseball road trips city.

You an option on Monday to direct the itinerary the best way for you and your companions. You can choose to spend the day in the city or take the day-trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Tuesday will allow you more time to see some sites in the city and then we'll head out to Citi Field to see the Dodgers and Mets game.

After 4 great nights in New York, the tour will head to Washington, DC on Wednesday. We should arrive early afternoon in the district and get checked into the hotel, which will give us plenty of time to get over to Nationals Park for the game between the Reds and Nationals.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards,Baltimore baseball tour,baseball road trip On Thursday, we'll take a short trip up the road to Baltimore. We'll be staying near Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the Inner Harbor. The game will probably be an afternoon game which will give you time to grab dinner at one of the restaurants nearby.

We'll most likely take a tour of Oriole Park Friday morning before heading to Philadelphia for you final night of the tour. It's a short trip to Philly, where we'll be staying in the heart of the city - close to sites like the Liberty Bell and Freedom Hall and close to Citizens Bank Park.

Along the way, there will be stadium tours, an MLB player Experience and other Big League Tours extras. You could also consider coming into Boston early or staying over in Philadelphia. Let us know if you'd like to customize your tour in anyway.

Museum and Stadium Tours in Baltimore

June 16, 2011 - Whenever we're on the road with our group travel tours, we try to schedule baseball stadium tours to get a behind-the-scenes look at how things operate in the bigs. So while in Baltimore, we took in the guided tour of Orioles Park.

The tour that they give is probably one of the best tours in the majors based on the amount of time that they give you as well as the information that they share.
Inside the museum

The tour starts on Eutaw Street and visits the club level, luxury and party suites, media room, press box, the field and dugouts. All in all it's a great tour that's worth the visit.

We also stopped in the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum which is just a few blocks from Orioles Park. The museum is rich with history of Babe's life, not just his formative years in Baltimore. Here are some photos from the Museum.

Orioles and Rays at Camden Yards

June 16, 2011 - The second day of our tour, we loaded up and headed to Baltimore to see the Orioles and Rays at Camden Yards. For most in our group, it was their first trip to the first of the "retro" parks that started a new trend in stadium design and architecture. But more about that when I write about our baseball stadium tours.

The game was a Sunday afternoon game and, just like the day before, was delayed slightly by rain. This time the game started just six minutes late. Our guests were sitting just above the Rays dugout with a great view of the field and of the warehouse building. The picture to the left was taken from our seats.

On each of our baseball road trips that include Orioles Park, our guests always like this ballpark and tend to include it in their favorite. More to come from our escorted tour of the stadium on Monday.

tour is a baseball aficionado’s dream tour – six stadiums and the Hall of Fame in one trip. The longest of our 2011 MLB road trips begins in Philadelphia where we'll see the Phillies host the Cubs at Citizens Bank Park. Then it's off to Baltimore to see the Rays and Orioles at the first of the retro ballparks, Camden Yards.

We'll take a stadium tour of Orioles Park and visit the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum before heading to Washington D.C. There our guests will have the rest of the day and all of Monday to explore our nation's capitol. We'll then catch the Cardinals at Nationals Park with a view of the Capitol building in the distance.

We'll then part for New York City, where we'll spend three nights, catch games at Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, make a day run up to Cooperstown, and take in some sights in the Big Apple. Ballpark Food

February 28 2010-You know, the only food that I can recall from going to the ballpark as a kid are hot dogs or sausages, peanuts, and Cracker Jack. I realize that part of the reason that my recollection could be so limited is that kids often zero in on their favorites and rarely stray from them. I was no different so I get that.

But seeing that Target Field will offer "Walleye on a Stick" (see my post from this morning) has me thinking about the varied foods that have cropped up at ballparks on our MLB tours. From the garlic fries at AT&T Park in San Francisco to the "corn off the cob" at US Cellular Field in Chicago. They serve sushi in Cleveland at Progressive Field - didn't see that one coming. And have some signature sandwiches like the Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh.

Teams have also incorporated former players' shops in or around the stadiums. There are barbeque stands in Citizens Bank Park and Orioles Park that don the names of Greg "The Bull" Luzinski and Boog Powell, respectively. You can buy a Cuban sandwich on Yawkey Way just outside Fenway Park at El Tiante and sometimes get an autograph from Luis Tiant himself.

Soon we'll be heading out on our baseball travel tours hitting baseball stadiums across the big leagues. It will give us a chance to sample the newest food offerings from each of the ballparks. So we want to know...what is your favorite ballpark food whether inside or out of the stadium? What are the gems from each of the cities that you think other baseball fans need to check out? 2010 Baseball Trip Feature - East Coast 1

December 17, 2009 - East Coast 1 is the granddaddy of our baseball vacation packages. The tour package includes 6 games in 6 different baseball stadiums, a free day to explore New York City, a day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, a player appearance, and baseball stadium tours at some of baseball's most hallowed halls.

We'll begin in Baltimore, making the hotel there our home base for a few days. We'll have a kickoff reception at the hotel on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, we'll head to Nationals Park for an afternoon game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Nationals. Monday, we'll drive up to Philadelphia to see the Padres and Phillies. Tuesday, we'll take a stadium tour of Orioles Park and see the Yankees and Orioles play.

On Wednesday, we'll board the motor coach and head up to New York City, our home base for the next three nights. We'll go to Citi Field to see the Mets host the Padres. Thursday, you'll have the day on your own to shop 5th Avenue, take escorted tours of the city's sites, or to stroll through Central Park.

Friday we'll tour Yankee Stadium and see the Yankees play the Astros. Saturday we'll trek up to Cooperstown for the day at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. We'll grab dinner in Cooperstown and then head to Boston. Sunday, we'll take in the Phillies and Red Sox and, if the schedule allows, we'll take a stadium tour of Fenway Park.

The hotel is provided Sunday night after the Red Sox game as part of the package. You also have the option of coming into Baltimore early or staying later in Boston so let us customize your sports vacations for you.
