MLB releases the 2015 baseball schedule

Posted by Doug Lawson on Tue, Sep 09, 2014 @ 11:36 AM

Big League Tours at Wrigley Field

Yesterday, Major League Baseball released the team schedules for 2015. And now, our work begins creating the luxury baseball tour packages for the coming season.

As you can imagine, it takes some time to go through all 30 teams to design the most appealing tours for our guests. Our preliminary plans include full East & West Coast Tours plus, Midwest, Mideast, and Heartland Tours. In those tours, we will create shorter, "mini" tours like Atlantic Beltway and Southern California for folks that want a quick get away visiting multiple ballparks. We'll also go through the schedule to find the best destination tours for New York, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Keep an eye out for our 2015 Tour Announcement email. We will be sending it very soon. It will include links to all the 2015 tours, plus early bird discounts for guests that purchase their tours before the end of the year.

We are excited about the upcoming season and hope you will join us on the road in 2015. Please call or email with any questions. (317) 806-2272

Mideast Baseball Tour Kicks Off in Toronto

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Thu, Jul 03, 2014 @ 06:53 AM

Rogers Centre broadcast boothOur Mideast Tour started yesterday in Toronto with behind the scenes stadium tour with Buck Martinez. Buck, a former MLB player and manager, is the play-by-play announcer with the Blue Jays.

Our group met Buck prior to the game and was treated to early stadium access, views from the press box,
2014 group w Buck at Rogers Centre broadcast booth, in-stadium production area, and on-air production trailer. We finished right behind home plate as the grounds crew was
completing final field prep for the game.

The game was really fun, too. The Brewers took an
early lead over the Blue Jays only to see the Jays tie the game in the fourth inning. Both teams threatened to score but it wasn't until the bottom of the ninth that the game was decided by a three-run walk off home run by Edwin Encarnacion.

This morning we jump on the motor coach and head to Detroit. We'll see the Rays and Tigers tonight at Comerica Park. More from the road later!

World Series MVP Ray Knight to Join East Coast Big League Tours

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Thu, Jun 26, 2014 @ 09:35 AM

Time and again our guests tell us that the Big League Player Experience was the favorite part of their tour. That means a lot to us when we've also had great seats, stayed in great hotels, andRay Knight at the plate arranged special stadium access for our guests to say they like the player appearance the most. But we understand...that's why we include it!!

Our East Coast and Atlantic Beltway guests are soon to be treated to the experience, too. On Monday, June 30th, World Series MVP Ray Knight will join our guests at Nationals Park. He'll share stories, field questions, sign autographs and take pictures with our guests.

Ray's playing career spanned 13 years with the Reds, Mets, Astros, Tigers and Orioles. He twice made the All Star team and was the 1986 World Series MVP with the champion Mets. Knight also managed a couple of seasons in Cincinnati.

Buck Martinez to Join the Mideast Baseball Tour in Toronto

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Thu, Jun 26, 2014 @ 07:02 AM

The Mideast Tour officially begins on July 2nd in Toronto. And what better way to kick it off could there be than to have an appearance by former Major League player, Buck Martinez?
Buck's playing career spanned 17 seasons with three different teams, the Royals, Brewers and Blue Jays. Buck also managed the Blue Jays for two seasons and was the manager of the US team in the inaugural World Baseball Classic.

Buck currently serves as a broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays. He'll share stories with us about his path to the Majors, his playing and managing days, and what he sees in baseball today. We'll also get a sneak peek into the broadcast booth at Rogers Centre and what it takes to televise a baseball game.

2014 Southwest and Sunbelt Baseball Tours, Part II

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Fri, May 23, 2014 @ 03:35 PM

Our Southwest and Sunbelt Tours took us next to Arlington, Texas, home of Globe Life Ballpark and the Texas Rangers. Rangers Ballpark is known for the unique view of the offices in the outfield, where blending work and fun would be easy to do 81 days out of the year! (Come to think of it...why aren't our offices there???)Rangers Ballpark, Bacon on a Stick, stadium tours

You've seen lots of pictures of ballparks, even Rangers Ballpark. But have you seen bacon on a stick? I didn't thinkGreat seats on our baseball tour at Rangers Ballpark so... Well, now you have. I didn't know that could be done! If you're a meat lover, there are lots of great food selections at this stadium.

Looks like the seats in the lower levels are named by the season ticket holders (?). Reminded me of those terrible four-person "cells" or "cubicles" at Shea Stadium that were named and had metal rails around

them. However the names at this stadium were right on the seats themselves. Here's a shot of my seat. Seems like someone's a fan of Talledega Nights? I expected the seats on either side to be Walker and Texas Ranger...

We really enjoyed the game. It was close the whole night and the fans were really engaged. To top it off, we saw the Rangers put up a couple of runs in the bottom of the night, including a two-out, walk-off hit off of Fernando Rodney. (MLB Game Summary)

More about this combination of baseball tours to come!

2014 Southwest and Sunbelt Baseball Tours

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Fri, May 23, 2014 @ 12:52 PM

Our touring season kicked off in April with our Southwest and Sunbelt Tours. Although different in a few ways, the tour itineraries overlapped in Dallas and Houston. The Southwest TourChase Field from the seats on our baseball tour included Phoenix, Dallas (Arlington), Houston and Denver while the Sunbelt Tour included Dallas (Arlington), Houston, Miami, Tampa and Atlanta. We had guests from California, New York, and states in between.

One reason we planned this tour so early in the season was to beat the heat, hoping to see the roofs open in the domed stadiums. We had pretty good luck all across our tour. We had a beautiful night in Phoenix at Chase Field. The night didn't go so well for Bronson Arroyo and the Diamondbacks, but our fans had a great time, nonetheless. (MLB Game Summary)

We've hosted tours in Phoenix at different times in the baseball season. When it's 110 degrees, you're thankful for the roof and air conditioning. But we love to see baseball outdoors, don't you? We enjoyed being at Chase Field with the roof open. It was a much better experience. We highly recommend going early or late in the season in hopes of seeing the roof open.
