Mideast Baseball Tour Kicks Off in Toronto

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Thu, Jul 03, 2014 @ 06:53 AM

Rogers Centre broadcast boothOur Mideast Tour started yesterday in Toronto with behind the scenes stadium tour with Buck Martinez. Buck, a former MLB player and manager, is the play-by-play announcer with the Blue Jays.

Our group met Buck prior to the game and was treated to early stadium access, views from the press box,
2014 group w Buck at Rogers Centre broadcast booth, in-stadium production area, and on-air production trailer. We finished right behind home plate as the grounds crew was
completing final field prep for the game.

The game was really fun, too. The Brewers took an
early lead over the Blue Jays only to see the Jays tie the game in the fourth inning. Both teams threatened to score but it wasn't until the bottom of the ninth that the game was decided by a three-run walk off home run by Edwin Encarnacion.

This morning we jump on the motor coach and head to Detroit. We'll see the Rays and Tigers tonight at Comerica Park. More from the road later!

World Series MVP Ray Knight to Join East Coast Big League Tours

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Thu, Jun 26, 2014 @ 09:35 AM

Time and again our guests tell us that the Big League Player Experience was the favorite part of their tour. That means a lot to us when we've also had great seats, stayed in great hotels, andRay Knight at the plate arranged special stadium access for our guests to say they like the player appearance the most. But we understand...that's why we include it!!

Our East Coast and Atlantic Beltway guests are soon to be treated to the experience, too. On Monday, June 30th, World Series MVP Ray Knight will join our guests at Nationals Park. He'll share stories, field questions, sign autographs and take pictures with our guests.

Ray's playing career spanned 13 years with the Reds, Mets, Astros, Tigers and Orioles. He twice made the All Star team and was the 1986 World Series MVP with the champion Mets. Knight also managed a couple of seasons in Cincinnati.

To learn about our upcoming 2014 Tours, click the link and check out the details. There's still time to join us this season, but you'll need to hurry!! Wish you were on these tours? We have another set coming up in August. Here are the links for those tours.

2014 Sunbelt Tour: Dallas/Arlington, Houston, Miami, Tampa & Atlanta

Posted by Glenn Dunlap on Mon, Oct 21, 2013 @ 08:15 AM

One of our first baseball tours of the 2014 season is our Sunbelt Tour. As with our Southwest Tour, we wanted to get to these baseball stadiums before the heat of the summer. This tour starts in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. The Mariners are in town to take on their American League West rivals at Rangers Ballpark

Miami,Marlins Park,baseball trips

The next day we'll drive down to Houston's Minute Maid Park to see the Astros and Royals in what's likely to be an afternoon game. We'll check into the hotel after the game and spendthe evening in Houston.

Friday morning you will fly to Florida to catch games at Marlins Park that evening and Tropicana Field on Saturday evening. We'll drive between those cities and get to both ballparks in plenty of time to explore them to see the fish tanks behind home plate and the ginourmous structure in the outfield in Miami and the tank of Rays and the Ted Williams Museum in Tampa Bay.Turner Field,Braves, baseball trips

On Sunday we'll head to the airport and hop a quick flight to Atlanta. We'll stay downtown where you'll have access to attractions like the CNN and Coca-Cola headquarters, the Georgia Aquarium, and lots of shopping and restaurants. Monday night we'll head out to Turner Field to see the Braves host the Marlins.

As always, you'll stay in first class hotels, sit in lower level seats, and enjoy a Big League Player Experience. Don't miss your chance to visit these stadiums on one great tour.

A Trip to The Hall of Fame Museum

Posted by Doug Lawson on Wed, Sep 04, 2013 @ 01:26 PM

A few years ago, we named our tours that include Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Citi FieldHall of Fame and Cooperstown, the Big League Tours Hall of Fame Tour. It seemed appropriate as many of our guests purchased these tours to mark 3 iconic venues off of their baseball bucket list. So, in August, the morning after our group had a great time in Boston seeing a Red Sox/Yankees game, we loaded the motorcoach and headed to the small village in up-state New York.

If you have never been to that part of New York, I would highly recommend it. The area is full of vacation spots, restaurants, shops, and beautiful scenery. Cooperstown is no exception as it sits on the banks of picturesque Otsego Lake and is home to many of sites mentioned as well as The Baseball Hall of Fame. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town just as much as I did the Hall of Fame and Museum.

The Musuem is where all of the baseball memoribilia is displayed and the history of the game recounted. From the very beginnings of the organized game to the stars of today, the museum covers it all. A true baseball fan who enjoys reading all the plaques, newspaper articles, etc. on display, could easily spend a couple of days in the Museum. As a lifelong Reds fan, I particularly liked all the displays that featured the first pro team, the Big Red Machine, Baseball's Hit King- Pete Rose, and the Black Sox/Reds World Series. I spent a few hours in the Museum knowing that I will be back next season hosting our luxury baseball tours.

Bench Morgan

The actual Hall of Fame is next to the Museum. Mostly, it houses the Hall of Fame plaques for each induction class. Same as the Museum, one could spend a great deal of time perusing the info of the 300 or so people who have been inducted. As in the Museum, I was drawn to the Reds inductees. Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan have plaques side by side. I will definitely be spending more time in the Hall on the next trip.

There is so much to explore in Cooperstown. Glenn and I even had a chance to take a few cuts in the batting cages that are located outside of Doubleday Field. The pitching machines will throw curveballs, knucklers, sliders and fastballs. We decided that on the next tour, we will make sure to take our guests there. Hopefully, they will fare better against the machines than Glenn and I did.

We are already beginning our plans for next season. In a few weeks, MLB will announce the 2014 schedule, and shortly after that, we will announce our baseball package tours including our Hall of Fame Tours. Keep an eye on the website for all the info.
