2010 Baseball Trip Feature - Midwest 1

Posted by Big League Tours on Tue, Nov 22, 2011 @ 06:15 PM
December 16, 2009 - As interesting as it is to visit the historic ballparks throughout the big leagues, it's always Miller Parkexciting to check out a new baseball stadium. 2009 offered us two new parks in New York City with Citi Field and Yankee Stadium. 2010 will bring us an open air ballpark in a town that's grown accustomed to a dome.

We'll begin our tour in Minneapolis for a game at the new Target Field. From Minneapolis, we'll head to Milwaukee for a game at Miller Park and some tailgating with the great Brewers fans who really know how to party. After we've had our fill of sausages, we'll head to Chicago for some Windy City baseball.

Once there, we'll head to Wrigley Field to see the classic rivalry of the Cardinals and Cubs. You'll then have a free day to explore the city - take in a museum, shop till you drop, or hang out at your favorite places to eat (cheeburger cheeburger, anyone?). We'll wrap up this trip by visiting US Cellular to see Josh Hamilton and his Rangers take on the White Sox.

2010 Baseball Trip Feature - Atlanta

Posted by Big League Tours on Tue, Nov 22, 2011 @ 06:00 PM
December 15, 2009 - We're going to open up the first baseball tour of our 2010 season in Atlanta, Georgia. We'll head down south in the middle of May before things get too hot. The Atlanta Braves will be taking on the Cincinnati Reds for a two game series and we'll be there for all the action.

We'll be staying in the heart of downtown Atlanta and traveling to the games via first class motor coach. The times haven't been announced for this series but we expect that the first game on Wednesday will be in the evening and that the game on Thursday will be an afternoon start. That should give us a different experience for both games at Turner Field.

As the team finalizes the schedule, we'll be able to finalize some other elements of our itinerary. If possible, we'll be including a stadium tour of The Ted. And, as on all of our MLB Tours, we'll also be adding a Big League Experience by bringing in a baseball player, media personality, or front office personnel to give us an inside view of the game.

Head to our site to check out the details on this tour and all the 2010 Tour Vacations that we have to offer.

Purchasing Airline Tickets for Your Baseball Vacations

Posted by Big League Tours on Sun, Nov 20, 2011 @ 03:00 PM
Tips For Purchasing Airline Tickets
November 20, 2008 - Gas prices are falling, but airline tickets are pretty much staying the same.  To help find the best possible price during this holiday season. Individuals and small group tours need to keep some things in mind when purchasing their airline ticket.
  • Book directly: Airlines have begun giving discounts or vouchers to customers who book directly through their website.  It not only helps drive people to their website, but helps the airlines not have to pay that extra commission they would to priceline, orbitz, or expedia.
  • Sign up for their email: Many airlines offer special discounts to customers who sign up for their email and will sporadically send them out.
  • Look for flights at nearby airports: Depending on where you are flying to many times there are smaller airports who will have cheaper flights. So, if one of your baseball travel tours includes New York try flying into New Jersey.
  • Try to be flexible: Adjusting your travel days by a day or two may be able to save you in the long run.
  • Don't wait: If you find a deal don't wait to see if a better one more than often when you come back it will be gone.

However you decide to purchase your airline ticket make sure all of your baseball vacations get planned in plenty of time.

Will CC Stay or Go?

Posted by Big League Tours on Sun, Nov 20, 2011 @ 01:00 PM
Will Your Sports Vacations Include CC Sabathia in 2009?

November 17, 2008 - As most of you know CC Sabathia, a free-agent, is up for grabs for the 2009 season.  Free-agent season opened on Friday with the biggest stories being the Yankees and Brewers both planning bids for Sabathia.  Milwaukee recently offered $100 million for five years to Sabathia, but the Yankees offered a $140 million for six years, a record offer for a pitcher.

Many people feel the Yanks have plainly overbid. The Yankees are also planning to bid on A.J. Burnett and Derek Lowe.  Are the Brewers still in the running for Sabathia or will they lose him to the Yankees? Either way, CC is a lot of fun to watch in action. So whichever team he chooses, make sure that they are on one of your baseball road trips for 2009!
