SOUTH BASEBALL STADIUMS
MINUTE MAID PARK - HOUSTON ASTROS
Minute Maid Park is one of the only parks in the majors to have a retractable roof. The architecture incorporates the historic Union Station into the stadium, which houses the team's main gift shop. Main attractions are the steam engine train that runs over left field.
GLOBE LIFE PARK - TEXAS RANGERS
Globe Life Park is part of a complex that also features a youth baseball field, lake, office building and parks and recreation space. Over the past few years, the Rangers have done their best to make their park one of the best places to eat in the majors.
MARLINS PARK - MIAMI MARLINS
The newest baseball stadium in the league, the Miami Marlins moved into Marlins Park in 2012. By capacity it is the third smallest park in the Majors and the sixth to feature a retractable roof. The stadium houses some unique features like two aquariums behind home plate, a bobblehead museum, Cuban cuisine, and the Clevelander night-club that is available for private functions on game days.
SUNTRUST PARK - ATLANTA BRAVES
SunTrust Park will be the brand new home of the Atlanta Braves starting Opening Day 2017. The 41,000 seat stadium is intentionally smaller than Turner Field, to give fans better site lines and experiences. SunTrust will be situated in The Battery Atlanta, destination point for southerners.
TROPICANA FIELD - TAMPA BAY RAYS
Tropicana Field, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, has some of the most unique features you can find. It's the only ballpark in the country that boasts an artificial playing turf made up of recycled rubber tires with all-dirt basepaths. But that's not the only interesting feature; where else can you find a 10,000 gallon fish tank that features more than 30 cow-nose rays?
COORS FIELD - COLORADO ROCKIES
Coors Field which seats more than 50,000 fans opened in 1995 in the lower downtown neighborhood of Denver. Playing off of Denver's love for microbreweries, fans can find the Blue Moon Brewery located behind right field which features craft beers and serves as a restaurant as well. Unlike any other stadium, the 20th row of seats in the upper deck are purple to determine the mile high point of the stadium.
CHASE FIELD - ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS
Built in 1998, the park can hold more than 48,000 fans and is the first stadium to have a retractable roof. The roof is left open just long enough to make sure the harsh heat and sunlight don't damage the grass. Chase Field has a pool in their outfield that can be rented by up to 35 guests for gameday.
